    Tenured Professor in the Departments of Obstetrics & Gynecology and Molecular Pharmacology & Physiology at the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine

    Dr. Anderson also serves as Associate Director for the newly created Tampa General Hospital Cancer Institute, a rapidly growing clinical and academic enterprise charged with improving care for the medically underserved in the greater Tampa Bay region. A board-certified gynecologic oncologist, he has previously served as Director for the Division of Gynecologic Oncology at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas, where he was responsible for providing care to underserved women in Harris County, Texas through Ben Taub General Hospital. An advocate for compassionate high-quality care for all, Dr. Anderson played a key role in developing comprehensive programs at Harris Health designed to better meet with needs of underserved women in Harris County by improving access to cervical cancer screening and treatment. This work was recognized with an Honorable mention from the Hearst Population Science Prize in 2017. His work has been funded by multiple foundations and granting agencies, including the National Institute of Health, March of Dimes, National Science Foundation and the Cancer Prevention and Research Institute of Texas (CPRIT).
